Common questions
I received a code. What do I do with it?
Someone created a page for you and it has reached its delivery day. Open missingpage.org/for-you and enter your code — no account needed. If you already use MissingPage, you can also claim it signed in, under Claim media.
I lost my claim code.
For your privacy, the code is the only key — we cannot read it back to you. If the person who created the page is reachable, they can see their page and resend it. If they are not, send us a message and we will work out what can be done.
When exactly is a page delivered?
On the date and time its author chose, in the time zone they chose. Recipients get an email or text message with their code the moment it matures — not before, not even to us.
What does an executor do?
An executor is a person the author trusts to decide when a page should be passed on — usually after the author has died. Nothing is delivered until the executor says so. If you have been named one, you will have received an email; sign in and you will find the page waiting under My Pages → Received.
What are check-ins?
An optional safety net. MissingPage contacts you from time to time; signing in is all it takes to answer. If we stop hearing from you, we notify the people you named — and only them. Nothing is ever delivered automatically. You can change or disable check-ins in your profile.
Can I change a page after I have created it?
Yes — until it matures. You can edit recipients, media and the delivery date from My Pages. Once a page has been delivered it belongs to its recipients, and it can no longer be changed.
Who can see what I upload?
Only the recipients you name, only after the page matures, and only with their code. A forwarded link on its own shows nothing.
How do shared events work?
An event is a page many people build together — an anniversary, a graduation. The organiser shares an event ID and password; contributors join here and add their photos and words. It is delivered like any page, on the day chosen.
